Window samplers
Window samplers are designed to take disturbed soil samples from different depths. They are increasingly used for investigation of contaminated ground. The samplers are driven with a hydraulic “breaker” hammer or purpose-designed sampling rig. All window samplers are manufactured from high tensile cold-drawn seamless tubes complete with a fully hardened replaceable shoe slightly over- set on the OD. After driving, the soil sample is removed from the window for analysis. The samplers are available in a nested series of diameters, the smaller ones being used at greater depths.
Driving rods
We recommend our standard SPT rods (54 mm OD) for driving the samplers. These have 1-1/2″ BSW threaded connections at either end with spanner flats. Alternatively, on request, we can supply driving rods of other diameters with high tensile threaded nipples for joining. They are supplied in lengths of 1.0m, 1.5m and 2.0 m.

Samplers available in standard lengths of 1.0 and 2.0 m. Other lengths available on request. Windowless samplers incorporate clear plastic liners which are sold separately.
